They are less expensive than filterbags, but I think they might be not heat resistant.

I am sure they will melt under heat sterilization. Many bags are near sterile as is because of their manufacturing proceedure. I suggest you suplement this by using an aerosol disinfectant such as alcohol (70%).

Test it out and let us know.

wow i wonder if that would provide enough o2 for the roots of a cannabis plant... that sure would make hydroponics easy.
