Bad Find=almost death
    #2301928 - 02/04/04 07:40 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

So, me and a friend went out to pick shrooms in the region of Montana.  We found what we thought were magics, but they ended up being posinous.  My friend ate one and imidiatly fell to his knees.  He started crying for no reason at all.  Nothing could change his mind and what he wanted to do.  He saw his dead brother in the middle of a field, for a quick moment.  I thought I was going to lose a GREAT friend.  I made him throw up and then he immidiatly felt better.  he did get very hot afterward, which was a discomfort.  In the end, the moral is, dont eat until your sure about it is what your eating. :mushroom2: :mushroom2:

I can't believe you let your friend eat an unidentified mushroom.  What a bad friend.

Those symptoms sound more like an anxiety attack than a mushroom poisoning.

Gumby Dude is right...

That story sounds fishy.

The real poisonous shrooms do not affect you until 8-20 hours after ingestion and other toxic, but not deadly shrooms take 1/2 an hour to three or four hours to get into your stomach and cause you harm.

And then they do not cause reactions as you say your friend had after

immediately

eating them.

And there are no magic shrooms in Montana to begin with, unless you find some Panaeolus subbalteatus in a riding stable or race track, but it is winter in Montana right now. Heard they even have some snow.

even if it is a trolly...still good advise to not eat anything until you have properly identified it.

most certainly llamaboy.

astrok: be wary of mushrooms in the future. some can sustain, some can bring great awareness and some can bring about an end to it, as i am sure you know more deeply now.

This is not a fake story. Now, my friend was kinda nervous about taking them, so it might have been nervousnes. And this was in the summer, and there are lots of shrooms here. Up near Big Sky Montana, my friend brought home 2 trash bags full in one round of picking.

i can fully understand how anxiety could make someone think they had been poisoned, it is well ducumented.

the two trashbags full of mushrooms is a bit far fetched, even if true. i wouldn't expect a lot of people to believe it either way.

i said not that i bleieved you but that your claim is not going to be easily believed.

a claim such as yours, while i concede it may be possible, is dificult to believe without seeing, given the circumstances .

The first time that my very best friend ate mushrooms, he ate a full load... i don't know how much, but he ate almost te whole bag (we had 1 bag for each of us). I told him not to eat more than 2 or 3 mushrooms (p. cubensis, medium size, not more than 2 gr.). Anyways, he ate a lot, and started with the best panic attack i've ever seen (i never had seen his face like that day), which made him believe that he was poisoned, and he asked me to take him to the hospital. I didn't, as I knew he just ate a lot of mushrooms and that he was having a hard trip...i just supported him. Certainly, anxiety and panic attacks CAN make you think you're going to die.

I've been here before, I've felt this before, but, whose is this body?
