What sort of fruiting chamber did you use? I have a quart PP5 like that filled with grain spawn and cased with coir. I'm trying to decide what to fruit it in. I'll probably just pop a 2L cola bottle over top.

Thank you. This was my first successful Monotub and my first isolate from MS on agar. Here is first flush

And second

Figure she's a good one to be my first slant as well
Said it before and I'll say it again, that second flush pic is beautiful. Do you have an aerial first flush?

Sivarted said: Ugh. Remembering now why I don't do verm casings. Shit is so hard to clean off.

So right... but I just resorted to it again! I like that I can just pour it out of the bag, hydrate it a bit and slap er on and not worry about contaminants. I did try to put it on extra thin this time. Just enough to hold a microclimate above the substrate... that is what I'm shooting for.
You know...as I started harvesting I had a memory of the last time I used a verm-only casing, and specifically remember thinking "holy shit, don't ever do this again" and went out and bought a bag of jiffy mix the next day, and that's way easier.
But my roommate has been organizing shit and I couldn't find my jiffy mix and I needed to do it right then or I was going to end up forgetting...plus I totally forgot that I swore never to do that again. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

Very good work. That one in the center is going to be a monster. First pic is a beautiful fruit with a friend. Don't forget, you're obligated to eat some of your first mushrooms fresh. They're such nice trips. You've got a food dehydrator right? Pro-tip, you can turn jar lids upside down instead of putting on foil. It helps the 1-2mm microclimate evenly up the side of the cake.

Originally I had it inside a mono along side 4 or 5 other pp5 containers, I was getting dried out fruits so I decided to fruit inside a 2L bottle. They keep much better on a bottle set up if you have only a few pp5s, if in the other hand you can fill a smallish tub with pp5s that would also be good as more substrate will help keep RH up for longer, less work that way too.
