out of the cooker and on the rack

well, my friends first two jars of sterile birdseed (small PC) are o0n the rack in the oven. They did them for 65 mins. and after the pressure went down, took them out of the PC, and put them on racks to cool overnight.

the coffee filters were wetter than they were said to suppose to be. they put water in the bottom of the PC (as are instructions). is this ok?

and if anyone can tell me what to show them as far as inoculation with polyfill is concerned..... thanx guys

You could leave them on the kitchen bench because if jars are made up correctly, contams won't get in them. The oven game is highly over rated.

Seriously, the greatest chance of contam entry is the inoculation.

Never used coffee filters, just polyfil and I know wet polyfil is a risk to contams as it can "wick" down contams.

As for the PC, yes you have to have water in it. Just under the level of the top of the trivet.

Go to this new FAQ lol
