it's not necessary. waste of materials IMO just swap the water every day or two and don't let it warm up too much so they don't attract contams/bugs I would use the totes as fruiting chambers instead. I don't know what your area is like but with the weather warming up they should keep themselves warm enough.
they still have plenty of time to germinate.

Try your hand at agar first. It's a great thing to have down pat before trying LC.

Spots like contamination or mycelium?

I'm assuming mycelium. Which is normal after inoculation.. some say it's even the whole point :super:

Hi guys. Just some updates. All of my jars are showing signs of mycellium. A couple quart jars were covered in mycellium so I shook them. Same thing with one of my pint jars I shook one yesterday and it is already recovering today. Super excited. I am going to put a jar aside and attempt a grain to grain transfer.

Hey guys. So quick update. 4 of my jars seem to be 100 percent colonized. These are the jars a shook three days ago. The jars are all white with thick rhizome growth on top. I can still see small parts of the grain if I look at the jars though. Should it be pure white on rye berries. Or white with a tiny bits of grain peeking through?

I'm going to buy some coir today and get ready for my tub ))))))

Hey guys. Just some updates. I spawned my first monotub two days ago. I have a couple more jars that seem to be ready to go. I'll be making another monotub tonight.

I have about 13 jars left. Do you guys recommend doing 2 monos? 1 big mono? 3 smaller monos? I know it's really preference but just looking for a second opinion. What do you think will yield the most?

I checked on my tub this morning. It is rapidly colonizing. Have some strong rhizome growth on top. All looks well.

I have a couple concerns.
I have no casing layer as advised on here. Not too worried about it. Should I be? The second thing is I have the tubs stuffed with polyfil..not tape..I am following a user's recommendations. He has given me solid advice so far but when I research I find alot of people are against polyfil for the whole time colonization and fruiting.

Hey guys. Another update.

Tub number one is about 10 days and almost fully colonized. Tub 2 and 3 are slightly behind tub number 1.

These cambodians seem to colonize super quick. I am litterly day 22 into this project from multispore.

I have 5 more jars finished up and will be making a tub when I can.

I was trying to get another batch of jars going but when I got off work my soaked rye berries had sprouted and chalked it up as a loss. Will be picking some more up when I get some time.

Hey guys

So I think it's time to fruit tub number one. I think I have the right idea but if anyone could chime in that would be great

I'm going to loosen the polyfil and uncover one hole for a couple hours. Keep the 12/12 cycle and make sure they get fae.
