 sterilizing verm/peat moss

imagine for a moment a person whoe would like to sterilized some vermiculite and peat moss in a pressure cooker, for casings. what sort of bag or container might he put them in that wouldn't melt against the side, and what sort of conditions are necessary inside the cooker.

I wouldn't worry about PCing the casing material. Most people just put it in the microwave for 7-10 minutes and don't have any problems. But if they have big contam problems, then an "autoclavable bag" will be the easiest way to PC large amounts.

I've prepared Vermiculite for a casing in the microwave by adding water, microwaving for 5.5 min, stirring and nuking for another 5.5 min and allowing to cool, then applying. Worked great.

I beleive the method of preparing casing I mentioned is a form of pasturazation(not sure though), but WBS needs to be sterilized in t in a PC
|

Nuking casing materials is more or less pasteurizing. Usually works out due to the minimal amount of nutes in verm/peat/coir. You would definitly want to PC grains of any type.
