What wattage UVC light do i need for agar and anything else

im looking at getting a 15W tube with ballast (253nm uv), would that be strong enough? I think that 15w is the UV emission since the light uses 33W.
i want to use it to help agar keep or between pouring to inoculation, get rid of bacteria any bugs may track into sterile places i cant PC (like my glove box), clean zip lock bags for taking wild samples, use on a store bought mushroom against surface bacteria so its safer to cut an internal slice from, a quick flash on my incubation box every now and then for bacterial around the lid area (being cautious of the growing myc obviously) and for general sanitation ontop of the iso wipe down i do anyway. Basically as an additional measure, not inplace of something else suitable.
Im as sterile as i can reasonably be but im still getting contams, plus i want a uv light anyway for other stuff.
One thing i want to know though, is, since theres allot of contradicting info i cant tell opinion from fact, does UVC kill living fungi or mold? and what of non living i.e spores? UVC really seems to be a heated topic, allot of anger in discussions for some reason.
I'll just reiterate that i want the UVC light as an aid, not replacing some other means, and otherwise for use in places there are no other options, aka, an additional measure never a substitute. so worst case there is no benefit or detriment either way. Just incase anyone gets mad i might be using it instead of an iso wipe or PC.

Will kill both mold and living, with a caveat, the will only kill surface contamination. Don't expect it to be able to clean up mold spots on an agar plate. Fun fact though, the UV subtly changes the color of the top lid of the petri dish after a few hours exposure. I will see if I can get some photos at some point.
IDK about wattage and how it pertains to UVC output. I know the one I have seems to be working decently. I have it on for an hour or so before turning the flowhood on. Never work in front of the light.

If you get one that also makes ozone it will kill most airborne contaminants. You don't need it running long either, just long enough to smell the ozone. But like the other guy said it won't kill mold spots on agar effectively, but for prevention it is great.

If you think you need a UV light for agar what you really need is skills. Fuck the stupid bulb it will only hamper your success. Not good for your skin, the dishes, the plastic the dishes are made of, mycelium, and just money you're tossing out

It cost me less than $15 to put in, its not too bad of a cost for an insurance policy that helps keep it clean. I also plan to use it to see if I can induce mutations at some point down the road.

I'd save and get a flow hood if you don't already have one

Miller and Anheuser Bush both moved away from uv bulbs with lab hoods after internal research. Good enough for them good enough for me. The product may be sub par but they don't appreciate failure or lack of success at all. .
