Why not go small first before doing bags.
Anyway, you should sterilize for 2hrs since bags need more time for heat to get inside.
And what did you inoculate the bags with? Spores?
With that contam rate, you should go do pf tek and maybe small grain spawns before jumping to bags man.
Start over and pin down your contamination vector. You need to know where your contaminants are coming from so you can address it properly.
Yeah I have been monitoring the monotub and it seems to be doing well. I Took some pictures today of my setup.
3 of the 4 contam'd bags happened when I didnt use proper techniques. I was so blown out of my mind from using too much bleach that I couldnt focus on anything. Not really a question why that failed. I was high as a kite for over a day. Acute sodium hydroclorite poisoning.
The 1 of 4 that contam'd I inspected and the tape I covered the injection hole with was torn. That was probably the issue as it was doing great all the way until it hit about 35%.
I am going to try jars next. I bought some synthetic filter discs. Still learning how to prep WBS.
Here are some pics of my setup:

^Tried to get a pic of crumbly mycelium
My monotub 3.5 days into its first colonization.

What do you guys think?

You really aren't telling enough about your materials and procedures for anyone to provide much detailed advice. You seem to have 2 problems which may or may not be related, your 'weak' myc and your contams. I'd try to solve the contams problem first as if you can't get beyond the contams it won't matter much how strongly your myc is progressing. First I'd suggest reading the following bag tek; https://www.shroomery.org/8398/Preparing-spawn-bags Note that it recommends 3 to 4 hours PC'g for multiple bags with as little as 2 hours if one single bag. This does seem a bit long and per this tek the recommended time on a WBS mix is only 2 hours; https://www.shroomery.org/9665/Cybers-WBS-myco-bag-Tek Getting your seeds properly hydrated is also tricky and proper inoculation procedures. Here is a whole list of teks that would help; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163 Finally as Pablo asked, how did you inoculate, with what? That last list of teks will also help with this. Another consideration is the use of agar plates to ensure whatever you are using is contam free and that you are choosing the best of your myc for inoculation. Again here is a pretty complete list of reads covering the use of agar; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22721954/vc/1#22721954 If you get your contam problem fixed you may find your myc no longer appears "weak". Good luck with it.
Thanks a ton brother. I will check out all those teks. I have a bunch printed out I use to work with when I am doing stuff on this project.
Today I put in a light, correct spectrum CFL on a 12/12 on off cycle.
I inoculated using spore syringes. Sorry I didnt specify.

Hi all - new here and looking to get started. I am unable to purchase spores because of the state I live in. Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this obstacle? I would appreciate any advice or willingness to help. I live in the southeast. I have looked through the list of sponsors but haven't been able to find a solution.
What would be ideal would be to purchase from a vendor that accepts direct pickup in the southeast USA.

I live in GA and rented a PO Box in NC for spore delivery.

And if it the answer isn't coming up using the Shroomery search try using Google and click on the Shroomery pages that come up. Sometimes I find Google to be a better search engine for this site.

Ahhhh...... To be a n00b again. How's everyone doing? I'm okay but using this site with a mobile sucks. Don't have the interwebs at home right now so this will have to do.

It's really hard to ID a dried fruit but from what I can see they sure hold all the dried cube characteristics. Did you find them or buy them?
Click here and post your pics if you want and any info including where they were found and what it was growing on, Gill pics etc. to Id mushies
