Fruiting Problems...
    #2298040 - 02/03/04 06:06 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Casings are exposed to light, air (via an air pump and air stones in jars in the terrarium- though I have been fanning to make sure no CO2 pools), and have had temps lowered to 70 deg.- mycelium continues to colonize the casing, and Im fearing overlay...Im going to keep these casings cooler (around 55- not in the fridge overnight to see if that helps) any suggestions?

Just keep patch casing and waiting. It'll fruit sooner or later. How long has it been exposed to fruiting conditions?

Give it atleast two weeks. Two days is not near enough time for pinning to initiate.

Do you think that I should patch? As I have a fairly even layer, and this will only sset fruiting back further-as the mycelium has to fully colonize the newly patched casing-right?

If the mycelium is getting thick on top in some spots, then patch it up. If it all looks ok, then just keep misting and fanning and waiting.

Gook Luck

yeah Ideally you shouldnt really c mycelium on the surface. the shrooms will still pin up through the casing but you should keep patching until you get pinning
