The RIAA are soooo clever
    #2294214 - 02/02/04 12:53 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

damn these people are fucking geniuses, they sue 12 year old girls and grandads for downloading music now they have a even more diabolical scheme.

brace yourself...... some of the music just has noise for half the track nooooooooo! but really what does this achieve apart from meaning I have to wait an extra five minutes to get a working copy. Jesus anyone that works for them should be taken out into a field an shot.

I don't understand, what music has noise half the track? stuff on Kazaa? I'm confused.

Yes, I think the RIAA is the devil. Along with Clear Channel, Walmart, and Bush/Cheney.

the RIAA is introducing fake MP3s onto the web- sometimes half the song will be static, or only a couple seconds work.. Sometimes ( and GOD i hate when this happens ) - they make an mp3 file loop maybe 10 seconds of a song over and over and over.. Happened to some tom petty songs I downloaded ... it just keeps repeating 1 verse over and over and over

One time I download a fake song and that noise scared the shit out of me, my stereo was turned up and it was just so fucking horrible on my ears. For those of you who heard this on the fake songs know what I'm talking about, it's not just some white noise like you would hear on a tv, it was comparable to vigorously scratching a blackboard with your nails while kicking an evil mutated cat's ass under water.

Heh, you should sue them for ear damage!  :smirk:

Seriously, you all need to stop using Kazaa and get a real  APPLICATION!

I've tried SoulSeek, but I can't figure something out. Is there anyway to download the same file from multiple people at once, like Kazaa, or just 1 person / file?

haha, I don't use the regular Kazaa anymore cause those peer points were a piss off. Instead I use Kazaa Lite, Soulseek, and Overnet for all my downloading needs.

Soulseek is based off of chat rooms, mostly. You can do an across-the-board search, but I usually browse individual's file lists.

No, there's no way to download the same file from multiple sources, like Kazaa. But, you won't be bothered with spyware and hassled by the RIAA on Soulseek. And it has an incredible concentration of hard-to-find stuff and obscure artists.  Most things I've downloaded from Soulseek I could Never find on Kazaa.  And I think Kazaa Lite was busted, and I sure as hell am not gonna use regular Kazaa.

If you donate to Soulseek, you get priority for x days, so you don't have to wait in line to get stuff.

What's Overnet? is it popular?

I don't believe Kazaa Lite was busted since I just used it yesterday, and Overnet it like Kazaa where you can download a file from multiple users and it has rare music files and plenty of software. In combination with those three programs I can pretty much find anything I want.

Technically what they're doing is illegal too. They are sharing copyrighted music, doped or not.

not exactly. the RIAA have the right to distribute the copyrighted material as they see fit. that is their job. they are the appointed distributers.

Hey cheapskates. Just buy the music. The endless whine that cds are too expensive is just crap. 30 years ago albums were about $5 and wore out. Now new cds are $15 and last forever. Factored for inflation they're way cheaper now. The bitch about music now should be that only total shit reaches the radio or MTV. Do most of these popstars even write their own garbage. Anything decent is an accident.
