No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.

Nice Guys Finish Last.

Only The Strong Survive.

Blessed are the meek.  They also are the ones working on their good deeds and will be punished accordingly.  If it was a really good deed they may even be put to death.

Ever notice when you lead a horse to water even then you can't get the horse to drink?  You might want to take the horse out to the beach for a nice ride, and all the horse wants to do is go back to the barn and eat hay and lay down afterwards?  You know the horse could use the exercise, and how important hydration is, why does the horse punish your best efforts?

The road to hell is DEFINITELY paved with good intentions. The issue here, I believe, is trying to help others.

I feel more and more as time passes that the only real way to do that is to help yourself. Grow yourself. Lead by example, not be leading the horse by the reins. Like you say, it probably doesn't want the beach, it probably just wants the hay and the barn.

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

Leading the horse top water only implies that you want the house to h have water, nothing to do with what the house wants.

The road to hell IS paved with good intentions. Most the time people trying to help others is simply one person trying to impose what they think is best for the other person regardless of the recipients wants.

Change and betterment only come from within, from personal choice. They gotta drink for themselves.

If we allow the horses and sheep to decide what they want, nothing will get done, despite our best intentions.  This is why horses get spurred, with that thing put in their mouths that "encourages" them to behave.  I think it's called a "bit".  Ouch.

I think what you are describing is parenting.  If you don't eat your meat (horse or otherwise) you can't have any pudding.  Personal choice is overrated, and you shouldn't allow them to drink until at least 21.

If we allow the horses and sheep to decide what they want, they will eat and drink when they want. That simple. Horses get spurred out of impatience or ignorance from the trainer, I have known many many  horses and trainers and people who use work horses everyday, no reason for it. A bit is a piece put in their mouth of a horses with the intent of helping communicate, non-verbally, directions. Bits also have been linked to hundreds of behavioral problems in horses along with damage to the Trigemenal nerve.

Yes, what I am talking about is parenting and coaching, we subconsciously do it to anyone we see inferior to ourselves, and impose our wants onto them, then tell them that its what they want/need.

Look, if they didn't need the condescending belittling on a daily basis in order to achieve perfection, we wouldn't have to deliver it to them like a Washington Post newspaper.
