Doubtful you'll find a decent one man. You should google Presto 23 quart PC- great starter PC if you cant afford an AA 921.. same size

I've got PE and John Allen rust on agar. I'm too busy to bother moving forward with it though.

My LC as been on the stir plate for 7 days. didn't really see growth for the first 3 days because I used such a tiny amount of agar. If I keep waiting will it colonize all the liquid or do LC ususally stall out a bit before the jar completely fills with mycelium?
I used 6 grams of LME to 600ml water.

Next batch of 4 brf pftek harvest.
They've been spitting out 70+ grams each so I dunno about subsequent flushes with all the fae/rh issues in the beginning but we will see. Largest was 36 grams with twin brothers in at 22g each.

Do you have pics of all the cakes fruiting? I really wanted to see that 24 cake tub engulfed in shrooms.
I wish. By the time they finally fruited they kept making their own schedule. I made six cakes of four different varieties. They're either coming out in 4's or 6's. It was also off of multispore. Wasn't until a few days ago they decide to really get at it, and now they're doing it again. I used incense to track down the draft so that all makes sense now, and should've used half the perlite with nearly no misting. So wet here.
I've got eleven left, giving the obvious ones another day or two and there's 4 that have just now started going into buck-wild pinning.

The ones in back that look like shit came back alive last night after a whole lot of nothing. The back row is where they go to flourish.
Next round I've got all Maza's so I hope it does what we are both looking for lol. So many mutants and hollow holes in caps but now I know how these tick. Loving it.
Does kind of suck tho, but they're on flush 1.5 and I see what Inoc means about no clear delineation between first and second. I'm waiting for a bottom-pinning GT cluster (not shown) underneath that big bastard. Very few hollow stems I'm pretty happy. Dunked a cake for two hours and it came out smelling like bad wine and feet so I hope they hurry up.
Edit: varieties not strains*

Time to make more plates up . I have 2 different pe crosses (f2) that are about to fruit in the next week or so . Its very time consuming but it's exciting to see the new and unique varieties that can emerge from a cross.
This is a f2 of a crs/aa+ cross . White spore white gills but brown cap with green spots.i circled the spores with yellow . Zoom in they are hard to see

They are colonizing grain masters now. What are the odds of the Lucy gene move to the gills and spores?

I thought rusty spore color was a recessive gene? Maybe just a false mating of one of the strains making up the fruit. Any thoughts.
Oh I was totally going to try this cross, still might but now I know someone else is... What are you going to call it?
Don't let me stop ya man . There is no telling what I will find or if I even find something worth messing with . It's 1% skill 99% luck . It's name is 105 until it shows its self .

You have a 1 in 16 chance for both recessive traits. Then to stabilize it will take quite a few generations which will need to be selected for with care. Otherwise the whole thing will destabilize and become just another cube.

You should try blending the wedge in sterile water first like youre making LI, and then pour it into the LC. It will colonize really fast this way. Just make sure to substrate the water used for the LI from the LC broth

I missed it too! We all saw it coming but good job!
Is the John Allen Rust different from the CRS or PF Redspore? Are the CRS and Redspore related or are they two different strains that both put off red spores? I guess there is the Redboy too right? I guess I assumed that there was one original rust spored cube that were mixed to make the others.

what about stamets' claim? I have heard those claims, but I've written them off to subjection. I'll have to make up a small grain cake and try for myself. until then,
Why is what Stamets said any more than "subjection"(conjecture?)
first, in this context^ conjecture is correct, what I meant is it's a subjective statement to say "I tripped my dick off" stamets is a well known mycologist that made this statement from an informed position, some kid saying "I tripped off of boiled cake" doesnt mean shit, I know people personally who claim they have had "intense experiences" from a SHITLOAD of non active fungi... the brain is an odd thing, it will take you where you want to go.

JA rust was an accidental cross of CRS and JAS that happens during one of cron's grows threw anastomosis. I stabalised the cross through a series of grows using invitro fruits that dropped rust spores.
