Harvesting from a casing.
    #2295017 - 02/02/04 06:20 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

Is it better to harvest a whole flush at once and patch up the casing or is it better to pick them as the veil tears to prevent contamination of the casing from spores?

The spores don't contaminate the casing, the can inhibit further pinhead development though. Not sure about which one is better though

I've seen casings produce a patch of mushrooms which were able to be picked within a half day of eachother...others when they are completely unbalanced, and others when they are completely equal.

It would be best to pick the patches that have matured, and patch case the area from where you picked them.
