Pickng in brissy
    #2294834 - 02/02/04 06:54 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

went picking this morn after good dose of rain and found a few of these little guys. Just curious what strain they are. they were found in or around cow dung under pine trees(slash pines). Am guessing they are just the common gold top. any thoughts?

Strain?

Its a species...

They appear to be Copelandia cyanescens... They are much more potent than your normal Gold-top, Psilocybe cubensis.

Where is brissy anyways? Im guessing your in Australia?

Nice finds and pictures.

Most likely he is referring to Brisbane on the Gold Coast.

Those look just like the suncaps and bullets i find in my area. Someone said you arent allowed to mention where you are from or where you obtain drugs? Is this true? Even tho in my state wild shrooms are legal *hint* *hint*. Well i guess im not breaking any rules then huh.

I think you might have a  mixed-collection of Panaeolus mushrooms.

Panaeolus cyanescens & Panaeolus sphinctrinus..

I brought your picture into a photo editing program and brightened it up and then arrowed in on the Pan sphinctrinus caps for ya..

Maybe it's late at night, sometimes those panaeolus mushrooms are tricky to see in pictures than they are in real life they are easier to see (obviously but it is late at night and this is my last post for the evening )

lol - it's real late at night, my eyes and my arrows must be playing tricks on me

:gd_icon:

But i think you have a few stray Pan's in there that don't belong.

Well yes GGreatOne234, there are a few Paneolus sphinctrinus in that picture. In Hawaii kids, as well as a few Gi's, have been observed with bags of Copes and about one out of every twenty or thirty were the Panaeolus sphinctrinus shrooms, .

This is a problem when picking if the person picking does not examine each cap when tossing it into a bag or box or tray. I lift the shroom out of the ground. So caps tend to mimic their relatives in the manure sometimes. A cap which is hygrophanous can appear to be several different species. Usually you can see the reddish-brown color in the stem, but if you turn the shroom over when laying it into the bag, you can usually seed the geared teeth-like notches hanging on the edges of the caps.

Well they won't get you high and they won't make you sick but as I noticed in Hawaii. People eat them with the good ones and make comments like, "well if you eat enough of them they give you a mild buzz." Some people put them into the bags with the good ones on purpose to make more weight.

mj

Good job GGreatOne234.

mj

Yeah, its funny... When I lived in Hawaii, everyone said how inpotent the shrooms were... And they were picking mainly sphinctrinus, with a few cyanescens in there.

Sometimes they wouldnt trip. At the time, I didn't know much about hallucinogenics, but when I look back, I laugh at it, and am happy that there aren't any deadly mushrooms that grow in the dung in that habitat.

-'Just from experience from picking the shrooms often-enough.
-I also ate eight (8) dried Copelandia mushrooms last night and was sorta tripping hard on only (probably only) a half gram dried of the Copelandia mushrooms.
--Eating Copelandia mushrooms always make my nose cold (and frosty-feeling) for some reason.
---And i am sorta tired from the experience.
----I (honestly) try to stay clear from eating any Copelandia shrooms anymore, but they were all that i had and i was in need of a healing-ceramony of-the-shroom.

The copelandia mushrooms blow my mind, and expose what needs to be healed -'just way too harshly.
-Copelandia mushrooms make my nose cold also.

Keep shroomin,
GG

I found ones near Brisbane that looked the same as those but no orange tinge at the top and blued mainly at the edge of the caps and not much at all on the stems. Not much affect at all if any after eating about 8 fresh. What could these be? Do you tend to find them more on flats near water supplies or on slopes? I hate the fact that I have to tresspass on land to get these, is there a way around this? I just moved to Brisbane and am in dire nead of mind expansion and am afraid I might not get the chance anymore. Please help.

Brisbane is about an hour north of the Gold Coast, not on the Gold Coast itself... and has no beaches, except for an artificial one.

What are those big gold topped ones? Surely not PanCyans

Yes....apparently they are, but they don't do shit. Maybe I've just been spoiled with the native suns though.
