Help!!!Casing question
    #2294619 - 02/02/04 05:57 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I have one casing that is in an aluminum baking pan. With the aluminum baking pan there is a clear top for it. The top is about 2 inches deep. I placed this pan closed in a rubbermaid box with no humdification. for fanning, i just take the clear top off and fan 4 times a day and mist once a day. Do you think that co2 build up and humidity would be off since it is in a such a small environment? by the way, the pan is 12x9x2.5. Thanks.

>"The top is about 2 inches deep"
do you mean the casing depth is 2 inches deep? That's pretty deep unless you have alot of substrate.

If your going to fruit the casing, you should consider putting a small layer of perlite on the bottom with water to provide humidity.
You won't need the clear plastic on top of the fruiting container if you do that.

>"Do you think that co2 build up and humidity would be off since it is in a such a small environment?"

how would co2 and humidity be 'off'?

The plastic top is two inches deep. the casing layer is an half inch.
"how would co2 and humidity be 'off'? " i mean would my humditi be too high and co2 level be to high because there isnt too much space between the plastic top and the casing layer. about two inches between.

high humidity is desired during primordia formation, but C02 is not. I'd imagine because there is such a small space the C02 would build up rather quickly, but if your fanning 4 times a day that shouldn't be a problem.
