ya this
even if you wanted to make an AI for its intelligence, you would NOT give it a body that posed any threat to humanity, for one.
Apparently you never got the concept behind Terminator or I Robot.

Good thing that would likely be well after robots are a regular part of society.

I enjoy being human. Would prefer robots didn't take over. I have a hose, I'll be safe. Maybe a squert gun or something Those ten pound boxes Every ten pound box shall be moved

You don't even need to program robots to kill all humans. I saw a documentary once where a bending robot got electrocuted and from that point on it was determined to kill all humans, before that all it wanted to do was bend metal at different angles.

We definitely aren't at the point where we have to worry about machines outsmarting humans. Like I don't think we could ever program a machine to think like a human. People fearing technology and somehow implying that we should not develop complex tools because you like to work, or you depend on a job that is easily replaced by technology, that is just being unrealistic and small minded. Nobody owes you a job. If you really want to keep a job get into engineering, or some sort of machine maintenance position.
I'm sure when planned agroculture came around hunter/gatherers were like "fuck this shit it is going to ruin our way of life" but these days we all accept it as normal, and machines do 90% of the work.

By the time we get to endgame technological unemployment, engineering and the repairing/replacing of machines will likely be delegated to robots as well. Anything technical can be done by machines, given enough technological sophistication. And as far as AI goes, yeah we'll surely reach the point that AI becomes to superior to our own intelligence, since our brain has a limited capacity and computers are upgradeable. No human can do arithmetic faster than a computer. Once we start building quantum computers, the speed at which computers can perform will be vastly superior to the current tech.

I mean if you look at one dimension machines are vastly superior in many respects, but I don't see any leaps in computer intelligence happening just because of faster processors.
We use what, 10% of our brain? There is more potential within us than current technology, and that is what is really scary. The question isn't what tools we will or won't have, but who's hands will they be in?

the 10% brain thing has been proven to be a myth. I think we have the computing power now, just not the "perfect" program to simulate ai.
