There are a lot of variables. Most people will see the condensation dissipate in a few days. At any rate condensation in ans of itself is not a contam vector so it's really just an annoyance nothing more.

I turn my PC on temp 4 for 15 mins, turn it to 6 for 15 mins, throw on 8 and after about 15 minutes it's rocking and I let it go another 45. It's probably overkill, and someone's going to point that out but it seems to be working so far.

would it be a okay to substitute your agar and potato flakes for this agar with dissolving vegetable flakes. this way excludes your coffee grinder and the agar is found at local department stores
Sea vegetable flakes. Eden Agar Agar Flakes (kanten) is a vegetable gelatin made of a variety of sea vegetables with strong thickening properties. The seaweeds are boiled to a gel, pressed, dried and crushed into flakes.
Ingredients Seaweed Gelidium.
Directions Add 4 tablespoons of flakes to 4 cups fruit juice or stock, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until dissolved. Add fruits or vegetables and cool until firm.

it comes with dissolving vegetable flake so i don't see the need to add more potato flakes.

Sterile work is so fun!!! Just did 8 agar wedge to grain, 6 agar to agar, and 4 clones. Seriously one of the most gratifying experiences.

It really is work. I don't think everyone understands that when they start this hobby.

I've had problems in the past getting my MS to germinate on agar and I am really trying to boost my odds and speed this time. I really like your pastyplates but I only have mea at the time and have melted sfd's onto a smaller hole instead of micropore because i didn't have that either... thought I'd try it until I get micropore tape. Anyways...
I understand the time it takes to germinate has many factors but would added nutrition or less water etc help? What are some tips to make faster germination and why I may have experienced ungerminated plates? Should I cut a notch to hold the drop of ms solution? And is 1 drop enough? Is MEA just as good for ms germination? And will my plates dry out with sfd's faster?

For spores I like softer agar (more water) and more nutes. Melting divot with a scalpel works great as does cutting a trench. Some spores can be stubborn and really old ones might never germinate despite your best efforts. But try a softer agar for sure and see.

I used a pretty small hole on some with the sfd, a lot smaller than 1/4 inch, will that restrict growth (or cause problems with ge during pressure cooking or condensation?)?

hey pasty! I have some ground wheat (1/2 mill) from work and I was thinking it should be perfect to use for nutrients in my agar considering we grow on straight wheat berries, right? what are your thoughts on this?

Maybe. I can't really say as I have never used SFD for no pour. Perhaps someone who has can answer.

It will work fine, I have used brf, corn starch, wheat flour, rye flour, grain soak water from pretty much everything. Grain = food for fungi. Suspend the flour and heat in the water before adding the other stuff. Then filter the solids and use.
