Re: second flush?

The reason you're not getting a second flush is because you haven't cased the cake a second time. As of now, the mycelium is completely without nutrients and therefor won't develop any more mushrooms. To find out about casing, try going to Grow/Find--Growing Mushrooms--Casing on this site. You can choose whatever method you think is best from that point on. Best of luck...

I've had several dozen BRF style cakes flush a second time, Just keep ventilating and give them some time.

1 of 2 things will happen, you'll get a second flush, or contams. You'll know evuntually.

Sit them right on the perlite. should help them pin. I just tried that myself a few days ago and they pinned again much quicker than usual.

OH yea, Krupa, Excellent advice. I forgot that most ppl avoid setting cakes directly on the perlight.

I've found that best results with cakes are when the do indeed site directly on the perlight.
