"But now the U.S. government has asked us for something we simply do not have, and something we consider too dangerous to create. They have asked us to build a backdoor to the iPhone." -Apple CEO Tim Cook
Long story short, The FBI wants to go through the iPhone of the San bernardino shooters to view emails and contacts, but they cant because the iPhone is of course encrypted, so the FBI went and got a court issued order telling the people of Apple to make a back door way into the phone so they can recover the info, Apple says we don't think we can and if we do make one then that will make every iPhone vulnerable. Apple is fighting and will appeal.

Personally i think the Government is overstepping here, risking millions of peoples privacy to go through a dead persons phone looking for info that in my opinion inst worth the price and probably wont even reveal anything they don't already know about terrorist. I feel like its a heavy handed legal ploy to invade the lives of the millions of people worldwide to obtain global control.

I'm with Apple on this. The FBI has more than enough evidence to convict those shitbirds.

I think in this one case they should be able to. I know that's an unpopular opinion but w/e

Had the FBI approached them privately and without public pressure, I wonder how apple would have responded. I'm certainly with Apple on this one, but I have a feeling they have made their decision out of necessity. It'd be extremely negative publicity to give the FBI any back door or to even have one on hand for future cases. The slightest leak about privacy concerns would result in a drop in their stock, and possibly a drop in overall sales.
