Importing cannabis to UK now legal?

Interesting to note that with other class C drugs like steroids being legal to import to the UK for personal use it would now appear importing cannabis is legal too, as long as there is no "intent to supply".

Nope, certainly not legal to import or posess it. Codeine is a class B drug but they sell it in pharmacies.

In that there is more to drug legislation that what class a substance belgongs to.

How do you figure? What's the difference between steroids and tranquilisers also in class C that can be imported for personal use?

Codeine is a class B drug but they sell it in pharmacies.

I thought you could only buy very small amounts of it mixed with Tylenol without a prescription in the UK.

As well as being in class A B or C, drugs are also in schedules 1 to 5. Classes define penalties for unlawful posession, and schedules define the range of circumstances under which possesion can be lawful.

Schedule 1 is for drugs with no 'accepted medical use' such as LSD and cannabis. The is very little excuse for having these so you most likely will face the penalties defined under the class system.

Steroids fall into Schedule 4, meaning there are many reasons to have them lawfully, so you can often import them without facing any penalty.
