That Azurescens dish looks all hot and bothered with germination points. Will it take well to MEA, or is there a better agar formula your using?

It's just PDA but 6g Agar, 6 tsp potato, 2 cups water and 3 drops Karo. It's 1.5g agar less than what pasty's recipe calls for. I just got lucky I guess, only had 25% success rate but here she is today (2 days later).

When I swabbed it, there was condensation so I didn't exactly get my zigzag, but they germinated. Ones without condensation didn't do nearly as well, and I'm giving 3 others a few more days. I like to add more water and boil the shit out of it so the flakes dissolve immediately then I tone it down.

A small amount of metabolites is normal with a higher nutrient substrate like manure. But that is pooling metabolites which is usually the result of a stressed substrate. The myc also appears stressed leading me to suspect contamination.
I have run my share of manure and never see metabolites pooling like that on a healthy sub.

Yeah the mycelium responded to it by colonizing it hardcore, so in that case it was likely just stress...I guess I'll see how my current tubs treat the jiffy mix next week.
