I started my first project on cardboard 3 days less a month ago. Since then I have gone and bought agar petri dishes etc. But now I have a huge amount of agaricus bisporus (white button) and am ready to move to fruiting. I know how and when to put on the castingo.
The only thing I don't know for sure is how to use the compost. Do i put the cardboard on top on the compost? Do i put the compost on top of the cardboard? Or do i brakeep it up and mix into the compost?

I have read you can germinate spores on cardboard. I tried a couple of weeks ago with a bit of honey added to the spore water, but no signs of growth or contamination. I just posted a question about cardboard to sawdust on mushroom cultivation, maybe I should post on advance mycology...seems about as low tech as it gets though.

I am very novice but you can use card board for sure. That is the first thing I tried and it worked. I am now trying to fruit the cardboard spawn. Coffee grinds work too. I have since bought grain to make grain spawn because it is easier to distribute through your substrate.

Can you use this same tek with white mycelia off of BRF cakes?
I tried this but it seems to have dried out rather quickly

Cardboard cloning and archive tech is awesome. Once mature, no worries of it contaminating like agar can, can sore bits in the fridge indefinitely in sterilized water to start LC batches as needed too. The cheap Chinese box cardboard seems to work better than American kinds. Just make sure the fridge is one dedicated to your work! NOT THE FOOD FRIDGE!
