To the best of my knowledge if they suspect that you commited a criminal offence (regardless of its severity) and they think that you may have something else linked to the crime on your property then they will get a search warrant (usually within a few hours) to come and inspect your property.
For example: you got busted with drugs in the city. They search your car and find some more drugs. The next logical thing to do for them is to search your house as its likely you will have more drugs there.
Another example: you got busted shoplifting. They may suspect you have more stolen goods at home. So they get a search warrant.
If you got into a fight on a street, or got arrested for drinking alcohol or jay walking, they will not search your house (unles you have an outstaning warrant for another offence) because there is no link to it.
But yeah a simple request to the judge on duty will get them their warrant.

Couldn't tell you from experience though how comfortable/uncomfortable it would be putting a bong up there. ^_^

If you have a ps3 just look on the bottom of it and it has a small snap on cover over the removable hardrive... Take out the harddrive put your drugs in and put the cover back on... No one would suspect anything.

Oh my god you guys are paranoid. It's not like law and order where you text a judge and they send you a warrant through the email. My stash of LSD, mush, weed and bong is conveniently placed in my closet for easy access. Unless you have high traffic coming through your house at all hours of the night because your dealing large amounts of drugs your good to go.

Exactly. Mine is in a giant wooden cube with my TV sitting on top of it. It just slides off if you pick the TV up.
Im planning on designing and building a stash box, for the class and the grass...

i keep all my shit in my computer towers or if its small i put it in a small electrical appliance that sits in one place (like a tape player) but if you got something u need to keep safe for awile put it under the floor boards.

Well, when I hided cigarettes when I was a teenager, I would store them on the back of a very messy drawer... typical drawer that will get someone else nuts if opened. My mom is obsessed compulsive with cleaning, and that drawer hided all in the old days (I had to eat several lectures from my mom though, thats the downfall.) But if the drawer trick stops my mom, stops everybody. Now, as an adult I have no idea... my wife even packs some of my bowls and we have grown the shrooms together, so got nothing to hide haha.
In your case... and the case of a cop... many smart/head shops sell covert storage. For example, a can of coke, it looks exactly the same. Just have like 10-12 cans of coke in your fridge drawer (so they are all laying down) and just don´t pute the drug-content can on the very top, but more on the middle. It will be just a bunch of cans of coke, unless they search can by can, they wont find it, and just from the smell of weed, I will doubt they will look even into each single can of coke store in your fridge. If you can´t store said drug on the refrigerator (as far as psychedelics, including weed, I think they are all fine) well, then, have it with a fake battery, and store it with all your batteries (even though, you probably wont have many, as nowadays, it is all about rechargeable batteries hehe. But there are many ways to mask them.
Most are smell proof, I have one for weed (a friend gave it to me, I do not need to hide as I live in a house with no neighbors passing by, is a very quiet place) and trust me, it works. I put in there Super Skunk medical grade, that has a massive smell.... and the hiding thing just masks it all out (for the human nose of course, a dog will sniff it out in a spit second.)
