need help with glovebox

'sup folk,

I need help with glovebox construction; I plan to build a perspex box with a built in hepa filter unit, with the filter on the outside and the exhaust in the box, and hope to build up enough postive pressure to forgo the need for gloves (just have two arm holes). I'm looking for advice as to how powerful the unit needs to be; the one I plan to use is the Bionaire HAP 541 (like the one that can be seen on this page ). I don't know the airflow rate, only that it's recommended for rooms up to 120 square feet. The blower is pretty powerful, but i don't really have a frame of reference. Would it be safer to just build a box with gloves?

By the way, how accurate is gauging the effectiveness of hepa filters by their colour? If its still greyish, and not black, is it still pretty fresh?

always use a new hepa...if you only use a prefilter/filter a few hours a day and keep your box covered in plastic when not in use you can get about 5 years of use or more...

my preference is a standard glovebox...if you make use of a motor and a hepa filter you should just put together a flow hood

yeah, but to make a decent flow hood you need a seriously large hepa filter and a very powerful blower, which costs big bux
