Ya that's generally what I play is blackjack. All though it can be infuriating when the dealer is hitting 21 off 14.

with blackjack you gotta understand that you will lose more hands than you will win, which is why you need to know when to double down. its the process of knowing when to double down and split to maximize your winnings on a favorable hands. if you dont, you might as well be playing 3 card poker, or casino war.

Ya I have a pretty firm grasp on the statistics. I really don't go to the casino very often though nor to make money. Just something fun to do every once and a while. If I can break even and pay for my drinks that's fine with me.

visitors said: scuse the necroposting but this caught my eyes. it is very weird how betting is mostly illegal there (you forgot the native american places?). in the uk it is pretty much obligatory to have several bookies in the most deprived poorest areas, and then another bunch on every high street. gambling machines in every pub and service stations. there's a good number of free tv stations showing it nightly where you can phone in bets. i think sky even have a whole channel just about betting. and the national lotteries - it's kind of like that film, what was it called - 'the island'? i think. millions living in hope that one day....one day i'll win the lottery and be free!
The Native American places were the first in the U.S. outside of Vegas and Atlantic City, but now America is loaded with casinos, and many cities allow slots in bars, but I believe sports books are only legal in Vegas. This will probably change because any kind of U.S. casinos are taxed heavily. I haven't really heard bad stories of people betting on online sports books (technically illegal). I would avoid making a really big bet because there is a small but real chance that the government could grab that money.

I bet online, they use vegas odds. I have won 9500 off of 500, and 1550 off of 100$ this year. I probably lost a total of 2000 but I am ahead. Nfl, ncaa football, and a little bit of nba and ncaa basketball. The college games are shit i should say.

That's why casinos have it, players lose more then they win. Haha. Also it's not so much about doubling down or splitting, you just do that with certain hands,I would say it's more about knowing when to raise your bet and especially realizing when to walk away.
