William Basinski + Richard Chartier - Divertissement

Motion Sickness of Time Travel - Magnetism

Second one takes a small bit to get drone-y.

Also, Christina Vantzou has a new album out.

Edit: This whole album's decent, minimal beats or plinks...

Listening Mirror - The Organist

Listening Mirror - Falling Under (sort of piano plinky, glitchy, nice)

Listening Mirror - Wet Roads

Exist Strategy - Tomorrow will be better, I promise (kinda pop-y, ambient, mellow)

Lucette Bourdin - Golden Sun (Full Album)

Was looking for 'Floating on the Face of Black and White' but all they have is this Full Album,
it's a good album, pretty much everything Ive heard from Lucette is quality drone and ambient.

i've been relistening, in full volume, for the full soundscape, of what i think might be at least tied (Biosphere, Substrata; that comes to mind) ambient album ever made -- or at least more classic; --- i would not doubt something could top this; but....

Diggin it.

Celer is one of the best bands / artists of the genre, for sure.

The very best album I've heard is probably 'A Deeper Silence' by Steve Roach.

Was telling akira_akuma that I've clocked more under-the-influence hours to that one album that any other drone / ambient album.

It's perfect and deep and resonant and just a lovely, meaningful album to me personally.

one of the first psychedelic trips i ever had was to steve roach's "structures from silence"
after that, ambient music became a big part of my life

i kind of feel sorry for ppl that can't appreciate this type of music. alot of people don't seem to get it.

"wait there's no lyrics or anything?"
"where's the chorus?"
"i'm bored..."

lol...

I remember some punkish girl telling a friend in my car something like, 'I love this song better than the instrumental, but of course its better, it has lyrics! *tittershrug*' Was speechless, at the time, but have rehashed my silence and what I should have said! Many many times, like a doof. 'If a musician cant express how they feel without lyrics, they may not be much of a musician, more of a poet?' I dunno, or something.

Anyways, went to sleep to that Celer album. :awesomenod:
Love how this track:
Celer ~ Fast Forwarding Sleep

Uses the tactic of draawing out the 'swells', with each wave getting deeper & deeper. Slower & slower.
Liquid Mind / Chuck Wild does that as well. So does Steve Roach. Great tool to relax the mind and body.
Like reading a story to kids and sloowing down the rate of speech, making the words quieter & quieter...

I was surprised by the variety of sounds and that it held my interest the entire album.
As much as I try not to, I guess I still have a bit of ageism / Cult of the New left in me.
