Its the one my chick broke. Its got a really woody stock that i doubt will root. But when i spoke to modern.shaman he says i should cut the peres off and stick it in soil. Let it root and then put it back in rock. I am undecided as what to do but my coming days pff will be fun.

Many have said that aztekium is impossible to root but I've rooted hintonii and valdezii... ritteri was too small and just dried out. They way I've had success is cut, powder with rooting powder, after a few days callous should be hard... will either shrivel or callous and stay hard, then place on soil and keep moist. I top water once a week. Needs to be close to 1 inch size or will dry out.

Aztekium hintonii rooted after degraft.

Some people are so gifted. I have .ever been able to graft such a small genus. Strombos? Nope. Aztekium? Nope. I gotta tweek my methods.

I have some Aztekium Valdezii aswell, but mine are grafted. Would really like to get them on own roots, but i guess i will wait a couple of years before even thinking about degrafting and rooting. (for that day, i will ask you for advice Modernshaman.)

The one at the top is behaving differenly, as it seems to be pupping. Maybe i will try some grafting too.

I mean if you have a graft on a permanent stock like you do I wouldn't degraft unless the stock rotted and I would graft the pups. I do not have 100 percent success rate more like 20 percent but I think I have worked out some kinks and was doing so during winter.

My main goal is getting a ritteri to degraft.

Old aztekium bodies do not regraft well do to being a hardbody cactus. Pups are much better for grafting. Re-grafting is possible but requires some practice.

It was bigger. Way bigger. But the seller packaged it all crappy. It ended up breaking into pieces. I gotta make more rock mix so i can plant the rest.
