Greetings all! Quick question...

I recently used the PF-TEK method using the B+ strain. Everything went right until, well the green and red mold showed up. I'm pretty sure it was my fault. When I put the mix in the jars I didn't wash them from the store before putting in the pressure cooker.
This time around I have taken every step to not let in contams. Now I'm in that nervous stage wating for the white to show up (fingers crossed). The only thing that worries me is everytime I pressure cook and have foil over the jars, water settles on the top of the lids when I'm done.
My question is, I used all but 4cc to make that last batch. I left the last 4cc's in the syringe and put it in th fridge. I was told on here before that I could use that to make more syringes using a Karo method?? It sounded simple but I've lost the instructions. Could someone please direct me or post the method. Thanks alot in advance.
Wish me luck!

fill a quart jar 25% of the way. pour in a cap and a half full of Karo. Seal it, pressure cook for 20 minutes from first "rock".
Allow to cool COMPLETELY inside the pressure cooker. Remove and squirt 2CC's into it.
Store in your incubator. Swirl around 2 times a day, and in about a week you should be all set.
Some people also but broken glass in the jar so when they swirl, the glass with chop up the mycelium.

Well everything JetBlackNinja said is absolutly true, the only thing is considering your first attempt didnt work out and those are your last 4 ccs,im not sure now is the best time to try a new tek,or procedure. If i were you i would just use the syringe to innoculate some jars(do everything exactly by the tek)and then youll have 4 or 5 jars to grow out.If you try the Karo tek and you get contams, then your stuck, you wont have very much spore solution left at all, only for 1 or 2 jars, and then if they contam your screwed. So like i said if i were you i would just do the jars,be extra, extra, extra sterile, grow them out so you have some prints of your own, then you can experiment and try different teks out. Good luck either way.

Yeah, I've got 12-1/2 pint jars going. They are just sitting in a spare bedroom where light comes in as normal. I checked to room temp. and it stays between 75-80. (they have their own little bedroom) I hope by today to have some white starting to show (started these on Sunday).
The last time I grew red/green mold in about a week. I can grow mold like nobody's business! Funny now, not funny when I'm forking out the $$ for something someone else grew right the first time.
I don't mind buying spores, I'm just afraid that soon I'll go to order and *poof* it's all gone. I'm going with the "save nuts for the winter" approach. Will the finished Karo jar be OK in the fridge for a while until I get it into syringes?

after you innoculate the karo water with spores ,you incubate it for a week or so untill you have the growth you want, then yes it can be stored, and should be stored in fridge. Some people keep them in there for 2 monthes or longer.
