A friend of a friend has been reading through site after site and has slowly accumulated supplies that he thought he would use in the building of his first incubater/growchamber for his first grow. He would like ya'll to take a look and tell him if he might want to get something else to improve the setup, get something he may have forgotten that is very important, or even take back something you feel he may not need. Here we go... 4'x 2' sheet of Plexiglas for lid Tube of clear silicon 2 50gal Rubbermaid non-see through tubs with 2 lids 45lbs of Hydroton 32 dry quarts horticultural vermiculite A ton of long organic brown rice Krups 3oz "fast touch" coffee mill Tronic 100 watt aquarium heater Little Giant 70gph water pump Tera Tec Ap200 dual outlet water pump Tropic Aire humidifier and air exchange system Metalux 18" 15watt fluorescent light 8' 2"x4" board for "arch-like" light fixture stand 5 Penn Plax check-valve/air filters 4 Penn Plax 23inch bubble walls Kritterz thermometer/humidistat gauges 5 plastic "T" valves 50' clear air line tubing 2 GE lamp and appliance 30 min interval timers 4 stainless steel vents 2inch diameter 1inch deep 20oz pollyfill 3/16" thick x 3/8"wide x 17' long foam tape weather stripping Maitres 22 Quart Pressure Canner 24 full pint wide mouth Ball canning jars with extra lids and seals Alot of firm steel mesh screen 15 gallon Rubbermaid tub Alot of drying agent, desiccant 20 inch Patton industrial fan Vector digital scale Lysol Alcohol Rubber gloves Spring water 1 EQ spore syringe from Spore Bank 4 EQ spore syringes from Ralphster (ordering tomorrow) ...is he ready to build? He feels like he's forgetting something... Thanks, CH.

What do you mean "your sure I have enough" and "it won't be hard for me to come up with it"?....I'm not building it....AFOAF is...... AFOAF, say it with me AFOAF.... Now, are you really going to throw that in my face as if I repeatedly typed the full phrase over and over again in my post... And I am well aware that one can grow shrooms with 1/4 and maybe even 1/8 of the supplies listed, and when was is wrong to go all out and build something grand to work with.... My FOAF just wanted me to post because even though he has bought all of these things to build something beautiful he wanted the people he respected on this board to take a look and see if he may have forgot something very important or even suggest something he could get to improve the setup even more.....if you don't want to even read it to help him out and try to flame me for using the full phrase "A friend of a friend", why did you even post, just to be an ass? Because that is what I took your post as. - CH -

Indeed. Agree perfectly with Cluster! Sometimes I think that people that are here from a long time feel like authorized to answer in some posts in a somehow impolite way... Why put phrase like "AFOAF, repeat with me..."?
I really don't feel that it would be necessary to say it, especially that way.

Tremor do you think sayin' "i hope it takes you a long time on here to gain respect and personally i hope that your FOAFs shrooms contaminate...and mex, shut up while your ahead" is sarcastic? Relax, cool down and reflect when typing, ok?

EZ on the n00bs tremor...you're a better guy than that. You didn't read his post, how can you expect him to read a faq? If you'd read his post, you'd see he has studied a bit.

Next time, Don't order from Sporebank. They are expensive. If you buy four syringes, get more than just EQ... try four different types of cubes... any four that interest you. Cubes are ez to grow. In fact, since you already have one eq syringe from sporebank, don't even bother with Ralph's EQ. I'd get four different strains from him. You will get prints to continue the strains... just don't use ALL of your syringe until you have prints. More strains = more fun. Don't just use Brown Rice Flower (BRF), get some cheap bird seed. Finch seed works very well. The cheaper the better... spend too much and it may be treated with FUNGICIDE... if it is the package will say. WBS (wild birdseed) makes more potent cubes than brf... it can be ground into flower and used in pf style jars too... as well as grain to grain... your setup will be perfect for grain to grain (GTG). Get the stuff to PC and make your jars first... you can build the incubator and the terrarium after you get started. Don't go nuts on your lighting... it is the least important part of the growing process. Are you building a glove box? Good luck. FYI... AFOAF is Shroomery talk... at first, Tremor was probably just trying to teach you the Shroomery lingo, not be an ass. You'll see, everyone says afoaf in here. Sorry things got out of hand after that. A lot of people ask the same questions in here. It can get tiresome for people like Tremor who have been members here for a whopping five months! Before you order from Ralph, be sure to check this link. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...;o=&fpart=1 It explains how to get your free Puerto Rican cube syringe with any order from Ralphster... just for being a member of the Shroomery. Welcome.

Okay...cross of the gloves (bare hands are better, just because) and that's more tubing than you'll need. Your desiccation chamber should be smaller that the 15 gal. Rubbermaid (?). Smaller sealable bowls (as from the dollar store) work better. If the gloves and the 15 gal. rm are for a glove box, never mind me.

quick question about cervantes's comment on bird seed...suppose one has a simple op, consisting of jars being birthed straight onto moistened perlite. is the birdseed still a better bet then the brf?

Eh, not really. Birdseed really ought to be cased - it doesn't exactly make a "cake" like BRF does. Anyways, I'd move up to casing ASAP - it really does up your yields quite amazingly.

If you grind it up and add verm... you can make PF style birdseed cakes.
