Wow, I've never seen anything like that.  It looks like a shroom tumor or something.  I don't know...my kitten has has pin's that have behaved like that before (not to that extreme though) but they all aborted.  That was when she had a crappy terrarium with bad humidity and air exchange.  Now she uses a poor man's pod which kicks ass.  :smile: 

I wish I could give you some solid advice man, but I'll wait for the experts to take this one.

There are 7 cakes in a modified pod. There is plenty of air and I give them about 3-5hours of light per day. The other cakes are pinning OK.

I have never seen anything like this.

I dont know if I should just leave it alone or cut it off!!!!!!!!

ive seen stuff like this before.  all of mine just turned into mushroomy lookin things without caps, and i harvested them.  they're quite delicious :crazy2:

its not a knot though.  the little tiny bumps you see on the cake are the knots.

Ive had a casing that had nothing but those on 1st flush due to lysol. Thats a small one, I had one as big as my thumb. When you cut/break them open they will have green lines in them. There just a mutated stem

I've seen lots of those too.  The biggest one was probably a little smaller than a golfball, I cut it in half just to see what was inside and it was like a big marshmallow.  Good eatin though.  :laugh:

I just had one of those grow from a BRF cake...a huge, thick ass stem with a pin sized sponge looking cap. It packed some serious weight for its size, wish I could get more of them.

I seriously would leave it just to see what kind of deformation will be formed.

I remeber looking at a thread that acually had a picture of a shroom growing backwards...where the cap was in the substarte. Looked odd.
Maybe that is whats going on here?

I have this going on in a jar that isnt even fully colinized I dont know what to do with it. its much smaller but is growing

it just keeps getting bigger, and now it has darkened in some places...

That is wierd, but I had 3 jars ,brf,p.f. strain, and the bottom of the jar was covered with a blob ,before birth! At birth the blob started swelling with extra moisture. And like "Dude" said it had stripes inside. Also had stripes and all other shapes in your head w/eyes, and some good tunes playing!Later OZGROVE

I have 2 of these mutants growing. They both showed up about 1-2 days before the other pins.

This cake is setting on the rocks. I tried a couple like this to do a comparison. Th cakes were having a hard time growing through the hole in the CD. I bet they do better sitting directly on the rocks.

i'm starting to get nervous about cujo's knot...
prob 2 or 3 days till harvesting
but the knot keeps getting bigger & darker
notice on cervantes pic the dried yellowish fluid? cujo has that same thing going on...
cervantes-was that thing good eats?
i wonder if he shouldn't pull it off before the rest of the flush?

It was very yummy... pure shroom... quite potent. I kept it until the yellow fluid turned blue. Blue = Psylocin.

With my cake, when I harvested the shroom ball, the shrooms grew quicker... the cake didn't have to spend all its resources on the blob.

Nothing wrong with that, pick it off and eat it!... It might grow, probably won't though... but it's all mushroom flesh and its all good!

Oh its STILL growing. I may harvest it so the other shrooms will get bigger. Im wanting to get lots of spore prints from this flush. I have some 1/2 pints collonizing that Im going to case. I hope to get a shit load of shrooms from that.

Maybe some more of these mushroom balls too.

I've had those before. What I've discovered is if you allow light onto your jars occasionally, (watching them grow 22 times a day) flesh starts to grow in the uncolonised spots. When you birth the cake the mycelium grows over them quickly and they start to form blobs, I've had this with three cakes now all the same. I'll try get you some photos of how it looks when it's still in the jar.

I just harvested one of those mushmellows yesterday. I was letting it grow as big as I could, but it seemed to stop growing at the size of a marble. It bruised extremely dark blue where I touched it to pick it.

yeah i have a cake that is half blobs and half normal pins and ive noticed while the blobs dont grow big they blue like mad
