Taking Notes w/ Programming Logic
    #22864249 - 02/04/16 03:36 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

I have developed a fun way to take notes, formatting them as I would a program in OOP.
This is something I've been doing lately for my non-technical classes such as anthropology. It makes note-taking fun and I seem to retain information a lot better, mostly because I have to think about what I'm writing in order to have it make sense in a programming format.

An example of my notes:

int main(Anthropology)
{
culture, ideas, art, customs;

for (i=ideas +art + customs; i > 0; i++)
{
culture++;
}

As someone with absolutely zero knowledge in programming

I agree

How to get started in bulk:
Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker
BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box
PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek
Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series
How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs)
What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain)
Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

:grin:

I have a relatively noob understanding of programming, but this helps me with programming and taking notes.

two birds in one stone.

I'm sure some decent programmers will come on here and flame my idea though..

This is cool and I haven't seen someone demonstrate this before. I reckon the the way you illustrated it was suitable - would imagine that it can become limited or tedious for some things but, as you've shown, it does have useful application. Appreciated!

Im a programmer too and also find this technique useful. For example, just recently i started creating a relatiinal database structure to capture info about axtive mushrooms in my area. It helped me learn about them, and maybe it will be iseful to myself or others in mushroom hunts if i find the motivation to finish it
