I'm not sure if I ever posted this before. This is an older picture but it's basically how I do all my sterile work. I love it to death.

It really is but these days I usually tape the bag to have a taller chamber with a little less floor space to make turning over the jar without touching the bag easier.
Even so. I touch the bag by accident all the time. The nice thing is that it gives and moves with you so that your working motions arn't interrupted even if you go 'out of bounds'

As I said before, these days I try to tape it down with more vertical room and less room on the bottom. You always sacrifice one for the other with the shmuv.
But even so you can comfortably fit 10 jars inside and if you bump the ceiling with a jar bottom it doesn't really matter that much since all the air is being blown everywhere just from the design of the thing.

Went full potato and didn't do a liner. Got bottom pins and side pins. First grow. Left it alone for 3 days and came back to this.

Do you think it may be blobbing since you're fruiting all over instead of in a cased tray / tub?
Dunno. First apes I've grown. I've had serious side pins with every mini tub I've run though, like I get a flush on the sides and then a flush on top, with liners and without. I think I'm casing too late, probably going to try the casing at spawn time thing with the next ones.

Completely neglected 2nd flush (no water, no FAE) APE plastic pie dish, sat at the bottom of a bucket with the lid on the pie dish. Arguably better than the first flush I took great care of.

Weirdest, pickiest cube, for sure. If I find out starving them for air actually coaxes more weight out of a given flush I might be a little pissed.

Very interesting. I've still never worked with them but everything I hear is intruiging.

Oh man I want to try playing with these so bad.
Does Workman still work on genetics? Do we think he'll ever try to get this one more stabilized?

Oh they're intriguing. If you can master them you're king of the castle, they're ridiculously potent. I think a half ounce of them would provide me somewhere around 10-12 moderately strong trips via tea.
I don't remember who it was but someone who had a lot of experience with the genetics said something about the PF varieties, which went into APE, having some virus that causes genetic degradation. If that were true and it were workman, neither of which I can confirm, then that would likely result in a hearty no, as far as whether he'll be messing with it again. It might be in its most stable state as is. I have seen a few different phenotypes floating around though that I like better than mine.

It's actually on the PF website. I was curious about mushroom history last week, did so much reading. It's actually pretty interesting, he was growing his regular PF varieties under a UV lamp for like a week or a month or something, not terribly long, but he started to notice horrible mutations coming about, as well as the albinos. He was still selling the spores and using the spores from those UV mushrooms to continue his genetic line so eventually it was impossible to tell what hadn't been ruined by the virus.
Pretty crazy stuff.
what's it gonna take to get some sort APE swab or something from you
