Well, dude, it happened in the early 2000's which is why you probably don't remember it. I was at Barry Muth's house when he returned and threw a party.

http://www.k2news.com/everestnews2/teameverest03dis23.htm

AND you live in texas? You definitely should have known about this, since it was in the front pages .

Ken U R33D?  He most certainly was not carried up Everest.

Why don't you go back and read my previous post which clarified my position, instead of dog-piling like an asshole.

I just dug up the first article I could find because I remember being at his home coming party over a decade ago.

I love mountaineering, and plan to do a lot more of it when I have the time and money.

....but I love my life even more and Everest is just too risky.

It just blows my mind to think about how some people attempt these other insane mountains, like K2 and Annapurna. Everest is deadly enough, yet pales in comparison  (as far as death rate goes) to several other mountains.

Annapurna has a 40% death rate. That's almost 1 out of every 2 climbers who attempt. Fucking nuts. And K2 kills 1 out of every 4 who attempt.

Ueli Steck soloed Annapurna and set the speed record on it at the same time. That blows my mind.

Probably easier to go quick when you don't have a bunch of people dragging you down.

No doubt. Mad respect to anyone who climbs any mountain honestly. There's a big chinch of our population who can't climb a flight of stairs.

I know a guy who climbed...I mean it wasn't even a mountain. It was more like a pretty big bluff. He collapsed at the top and called 911 and they had to send out a search and rescue team to come get him.

True story.

Don't they leave emergency oxygen tanks up along Everest? You should leave scattered oxygen tanks along the trail to your mailbox. You know, just in case it gets serious.

He's The Swiss Machine bro. You can't compare climbers to people who play games.

Lebron would end up in the hospital if he tried to tag along on one of Ueli's morning runs.

I wasn't actually comparing them, home slice. It was an analogy. LeBron is the best (or one of the best anyway) at what he does, and this guy appears to be as well. That's what I was getting at.

I've summited a handful of rocky mountains but a lot of the Himalayan peaks are just too damn risky to try in my opinion.
