Damn, seems like oats and rye would be bigger than those holes. Curious, how do you store your stones? I ate some fresh and dried the rest and they seem impossible to do anything with once dry.

Oats and rye are bigger than the holes, that's what makes this a great strainer.

I make tea out of fresh stones and freeze it.  Lasts at least two years that I know of.

Excuse the noob question, but what's wrong with dried truffles? Do they suffer that dramatically from drying?

No but because they contain less water than cubes. They loose less water than cubes in the drying process. So you need to eat twice as much dry stone to equal the same weight in dry cubes. This has led some people to think that they lose more potancy when dry.

You can't really eat them dry without soaking them first. That's why I make tea.

Oh of course! Just like when I dried a whole bunch of PE blobs. They were hard as rocks afterwards too. But then I'd just throw them into a coffee grinder and brew a tea.

Stones are a lot harder than PE blobs. They will break your grinder when dry.

Maybe I am just being retarded, but what exactly are you straining if the holes are smaller than the grain you're trying to separate from the stones?

And PE blobs are super soft IMO. I have a very fine powder of those. I tried grinding stones and that was a no go. I guess I'll soak them in fruit juice and blend them after an hour or something. Might eat some tonight.

Keep the fan facing away from the tubs, you don't want to dry out the surface.
