I've used them too. They're just bulky, and the visibility isn't that great.

check online, ebay has lots of plastic food containers that are PP(polypropylene) plastic that can handle PCing just fine
you'll have to email the sellers and ask what kind of plastic usually but they answer quickly most of the times. I got 32 for 8€ including shipping, that sale is over now but you can find new ones!

No, I prefer the 4oz. Ball jars with plastic lids. Mini rounds are cheaper so I use them as well.

I'll use whatever will work as long as the end result is a clean culture.

Any reason I can't use these instead?
They definitely work, I have a few of those. I didn't buy more because I don't like the raised center though, and the agar can get pretty thin in the middle unless you make it deep enough for that to not be an issue.

I have some pasty plates that I let dry out over the summer that had clean growth on them.
I am going to try an revive the mycelium with sterile water an put back to agar.
Maybe it work maybe it won't?

I think fahster would make LC an let em dry out for storage so I don't see why this won't work?

I have a honey LC which is 3 months old and it's been kept inside a closet all the time. The myc looks perfectly clean and all but I haven't seen any reduction of the liquid in all this time. How can you let a LC dry? It could take zillions of years, right?

I'm guessing you drain it first.

It looks like it. I was just asking out of curiosity because I'm not going to be using LC's anymore. I'm going to move to Ireland soon and I'm planning on following your bottle sub tek to the T, you're my fucking hero dude

The mycelium dries when he makes the special lids go allow for maximum FAE.
I will look for a link to where I read about fahster method.

I'm thinking it was with a GWLC. Either way I will put to agar to ensure cleanliness

I when this happens I just drop the entire plate to grain. The little bit of water in the jar will rehydrate the mycelium.
