San Pedro preservation

A friend of mine obtained a San Pedro cutting and decided to keep it in the fridge for a while to "keep it fresh". Would this effect the mescaline content of the cactus at all?

not realy.

be aware that with the high concentration of water in the cactus, and the high concentration of sopilage organsims in most peoples frige, they may want to keep an eye on it in case it starts to rot. in general, it should be fine for quite some time, since it will still ba alive.

you don't have to keep it int he fridge to keep it fresh. It can survive just fine as a cutting for extended lengths of time. I even seen pics of one kept in a closet that started to grow even though it had no roots.
