I like it soley because it looks cool lol I know most of it is choreographed. But imagine if we could process all that movement in a real duel.

Anything that trains you to take a punch and how to use your center of gravity is going to be beneficial in an aggressive situation. Some people do that shit naturally. Other people not so much.

Some of it is definitely useful, I would discard long-range kicks in a street fight though. Too much commitment, you really open your guard up and put balance on the line. Though a straight kick to the chin if someone's coming in fast can be another story, if you're willing to do that kind of damage...
Personally I prefer hands, grapples, knees and front kicks.
But that's just me MA's not my strong point

Tae kwon do is excellent for learning kicks. It has some of the most lethal kicks, but it using only tkd will leave a lot of holes in your fighting game. Good base to start but mma is without a doubt the way to go if you really want to evolve.

Check out this youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9tDOUA6AnQ7LNe3b70QwKA
Lots of detailed breakdown on different fighting styles facing off in the ring
I trained Taekwondo for some years when I was in my teens. I have been boxing now for a couple of months. I would choose a Taekwondoki as opponent every time
The styles you see in MMA are just more applicable in the real world

Not necessarily, 'Sports Science' has shown that capuara holds the title of hardest kick.
Thing with kicks though is there only practical at hip level. If you kick any higher you have momentarily trade use of your hands to keep yourself in balance.
By keeping kicks low you maintain your center of balance, maintain line of attack and can still use hands to parry/strike/conter strikes.
Also it should be noted that SS has shown that by executing jumping kicks you are losing power for that kick, no matter how well placed it is.
The ground is your friend. Just dont end up on it.

I'm pretty sure the title of hardest kick would go to to a single person, not a fighting category....if you want to get technical lol

I agree with the low level kicks... "Longest weapon to nearest target" as in JKD.
Interesting to learn that Bruce's stop kick and side kick came from Savate.
-------------------- Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order: 1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine 2)Amanita (urine drank twice) 3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose) 4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators) 5)Salvia (need to try quid) All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental. Blessing.

This particular kick involved a cart wheel/flip, the kind of move that is the hall mark of capuara (sp?) using the torque of the flip channeled from the core out to the foot. There's a scientific principle to it but I can't recall what its called.
While it can be utilized in other forms, its most effectively used in that afore mentioned style.

That still doesn't mean shit. There are too many variables. Ex: leg length, bmi, muscle, etc.
