PinPornProducer said: Grain to agar is just that, not sure what tek you read but basically just using a sterile tool (tweezers) pull a grain from the jar and drop it in agar, inside and sab of course.
And after a flush the mycelium is at its weakest point, all energy trying to recover and bacteria acts as an open door for mold to attack, especially between flushes
Good to know thank you

Harvested a couple more ice-midgets;

These little buggers are dense, this one feels like it weighs about 10-15g (no scales unfortunately) and is barely the size of my thumb, something to be said for cold fruiting;

Gonna eat them tomorrow, bit cautious as i haven't tripped in like 2 years and i have no idea of weight, plus i've heard cold increases potency (these are like 2+ weeks since pins so have been building that psilo for a while).

my sclerotia jar is fruiting at the top. and has pins like crazy. has anyone experienced this before. I am not sure if its a sign of an aggressive strain or if its a sign of bacteria or that the habitat is getting to hospitable and its just desperate to fruit.

I'd open that sucker up and clone one of the pins.

Since it's fully colonised it's probably ok. To me it's worth the risk. Getting stones to grow in a jar is by far the easiest thing to do in this hobby. While an exotic culture that fruits quickly is priceless IMO.

Agreed! You can always make more jars, but you may not get that kind of performance again. ATL#7 fruits are gold, clone and print!

why is there such a misconception that ATL # 7 is hard to fruit normally? In my expiriences it was as easy as cubes, but just required slightly more attention if something went wrong. more people should go for it.

This is the correct way to fill master culture tubes for storage Correct way to make culture slants.
To not place enough of an angle on the agar defeats the purpose of a correct "slant". This cannot be stressed enough.

I've had a fuck of a time trying to fruit them. For me they usually just pump out stones.

hmmmm idk then. I thought stonesun always talked about them being a great starting place for new guys bexause even if you botch the whole fruiting step you still get stones as long as you can get a jar to successfully colonize in most cases. discreet low profile low maintenanceand a nice buttery smooth trip to get your feet wet.
maybe I have just been getting lucky with genetics. who knows. love me some stone producers though
