Invitro casings...
    #2281040 - 01/28/04 04:10 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

All right, so i know it's not really invitro, but on my 4 small casings in tupperware, all the mushrooms are growing from the side. In fact, I thought I only 1 had mushrooms until I took the tape off the containers and found another 15 smaller ones! I mean, I don't really mind too much because it looks like I will still get a respectable yield, but I am wondering why this is. I did forget cover the sides of the containers for a couple days after I cased...i suppose that might have been why. But there are no pins on top! Not even rhizos.

Once pins form, it is rare for them to develop in other areas until subsequent flushes.

Leaving the sides uncovered was probably the culprit here. Next flush will probably do better if you tape or foil the sides now and leave 'em covered.

I'm so ready to start growing. I've shroomed twice and loved it to no extent. --Mindgames

I taped and foiled and all tht but when the mycilium starts to eat the substrate light gets down thier now I just leave it as the ones that grow from the side usuall get huge so I dont mind I knda like to promote it. its just hard to pick them so I bought thlong ass tweezer thingy so I can get it picked out right. its all good I atleast think so
