It's hard for me to pick GB this week. But that has nothing to do with #12. Down year, we can all agree on that, still look at the stats. 31 TDs/8 INTs/92.7 passer rating and a playoff win. In a down year.

Everyone here and coaches McCarthy will not lose his job.
If they lose 55-0 and then go 8-8 next season and miss the playoffs he still won't lose his job.
It'd take at least 2 seasons of missing the playoffs for that to even be considered, regardless of what dudes online have to say about it. Especially if Rodgers wants him to stay.
Although, if AR wanted him gone after a loss and losing season, then maybe.

McCarthy isn't the best head coach but he is still in the top half or top third. Earlier in the season I would have said #3 in the league. We will have to see which way the momentum swings. There were a lot of reasons why AR didn't have an AR season which have nothing to do with AR or McCarthy.

Glad the Rams went to LA. No more traveling across the country for a divisional game. Plus from what I'm hearing they're building a state of the art mega-stadium for them to play in. Should be fun

I'll go along with that. I don't see the Patriots beating KC this week...they are not that good, even with a hobbled Eddleman. I look for Brady to try his typical 2 step drop and throw for 4-5 yd. gains as long as KC gives it to him. I doubt he will do much drop back downfield throwing with that o-line. I don't think they will have much of a running game, and they don't have the healthy receivers to win after abandoning the run like they have done in the past. I'm also rooting because they're Micks team.

Does Brady ever go DEEP?
I can't think of any Brady 50 yard bomb highlights.

Just cheats and cries for flags, he should still be able to beat KC unless he is entirely fraudulent.

Bowman is still the man IMO, but I do want to see what Kaep can do next year. I don't dislike Gabbert, and he's still pretty young, but there is no denying that Kaep is a much bigger threat.
49ers are top five in salary space and have 12 draft picks (I think).

I assume they'll draft a QB in the first round this year i'm not sold on them really sticking with Kap over the long haul, if they do however this is great news for The Hawks!!!

Yet another thing that Tom Brady and Joe Montana have in common. Completing a bomb looks great on highlights, but realistically no one has a high percentage on these plays.
Yards per attempt, on the other hand is an important statistic. NE was 8th in the league, but trailed only a few playoff teams. Arizona was #1 and Seattle was way up there, with Pittsburgh. Denver and Green Bay were close to the bottom. There is the consideration that some of these teams played 2 QBs because of injury, but the ratings barely changed when looking at individual QBs vs team QB stats.
An interesting thing about the yards per attempt stat is it has remained rather consistent from the old era, Daryl Lamonica (the mad bomber), Ken Stabler, and Dan Fouts, to modern times when the West Coast offense has been in vogue ever since Bill Walsh developed it at S.F.

Chip Kelly in SF doesn't sound good. I predict a couple years, then back to college.

Thanks Thayendanegea . This would be a very meaningful win, I really hope they go into the game believing that they're the better team and just roll through the Pats.

I have this image in my mind that KC will overpower the Pats, but NE may out-finesse them. However I just read the NE had more sacks than KC which surprised me.
Nobody knows what condition NE is in till they play the game.

Go Pack!
Love that this was all kicked off by a packer fan. No one loves football more than a packers fan.
Big game tomorrow - I'm personally hoping for a Seattle @ Green Bay Championship just because of the drama of it all.
I believe that AZ is the best team in the game headed into the playoffs.
Love Andy Reid due to the Packers connection there and always root for him to do well. He seems to take low talent teams almost the distance consistently. So hoping for KC to do well too.
Dont get me started on Brady. Spends career with a bevy of excellent receiving tight ends, including one who might be the best receiving tight end of all time. Randy Moss without a doubt is the best deep threat receiver of all time. And other than that the man throws three or four yard passes.
Ill say this much. Without Brady, the Pats went 11-5. Look what happened when Manning went down in Indy. Or when Rodgers goes down in GB. The whole damn thing falls apart. That's the difference.
Brady is drafted by the Raiders and hes as much of a household name as Marques Tuiasosopo

Wikipedia entry about this upcoming Super Bowl.
Quote:
It has been dubbed as the Golden Super Bowl because it will be located in the Golden State (California); held in the home stadium of the San Francisco 49ers, a team named after the miners of the California Gold Rush; and because a 50th anniversary is traditionally the "golden anniversary
And the Packers are green and gold
 Coincidence? I think not.

I just happened to be online when we had to shut down last season's thread.. But yeah, Wisconsin is crazy for the Packers, especially when you get up towards NE WI.
So we have another Packers fan on board here, eh? I bet everyone is thrilled about that.
I, too, am rooting for a rematch for the NFCCG, also because if so, it'll be played at Lambeau.

Steve Young was a nobody until S.F. got him so anybody might be inferior on a bad team. I'm not saying I don't see your point, and the Packers were definitely winning more when Rodgers was in, but he didn't have a good year.
IMO Manning and Rodgers would both have more Superbowl rings if they played for Belichik.
When you have as many rings as fingers on one hand, who cares how far the passes go. Look at his passing stats this year, on a crippled team. His TD-interception ratio was great and only a couple other QBs had comparable overall stats.
Peyton Manning is probably on his last chance. If not he's somewhere else next year. Either way, his shoulder isn't likely to get better.

All personal shit aside, I would hate to see Manning get to the Super Bowl and get blown out again.. I'd much rather him just not make in that case.
Of course, that conflicts with my actual desires, but you get my drift.
