What have your esoteric beliefs done for you?
    #2273349 - 01/26/04 01:51 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Other than satisfying your ego or making you feel secure in light of certain subjective experiences you may or may not have had... how have your esoteric beliefs helped your daily life?

I'm just askin'...

Define "esoteric."

you asking me?

I'm happy. I am surrounded by people that love me. I have a woman that is the love of my life.

My band is doing great, I have lots of friends, I love life. I find great joy in helping people.

I am experiencing a great life... after going through the 7 levels of hell.. and learning so much... how about you?

I don't suppose you'd want to define your question a little more narrowly???

Well, in the absence of a more narrowly defined question, I would say that people help me and I help people. Karma.

Ok, I went ahead and looked it up, since you wouldn't define it for me:

Quote:

es?o?ter?ic
adj.

1. Intended for or understood by only a particular group
Of or relating to that which is known by a restricted number of people.

2. Confined to a small group
Not publicly disclosed; confidential.

I suppose that some of the revelations I've had on mushrooms could meet the first definintion. Anyway, these beliefs have given me a new view of the universe, and have also helped make me happier as a person. I now feel more calm and spiritually aware. I no longer fret about unimportant things. Of course, this could just as easily be attributed to the mushroom experience itself as to the beliefs it has given me.

Esoteric beliefs have done more for me than any other non-esoteric beliefs ever could have.

I think all beliefs are esoteric. Even people whose linguistic representation of their beliefs seem to be the same as others have different beliefs from one another. Everyone's mindset is completely unique.

Each of us is the only member in our Belief Club. ; )

This message brought to you by squirrely words and their slippery definitions.

I wouldn't say my beliefs are esoteric, but they permanently brought me out of suicidal depression.

In coming to realise Life, the Universe and Everything is one, I haven't worried so much about details in life, and even about some of the greater issues. I've learned to become content with who I am, and not to focus on what I am. The scope of my goals has increased, but they're more closely defined at the same time, if the private digs.

Helping your daily life also means satisfying your ego you know. And what is wrong with satisfying your ego. Mine makes my life much more fun and interesting to live. If I were to go on living with one reality map every single day, my life would get rather boring quickly.

Satisfying your ego how, exactly? And what do you see as your ego?

there is so much bullshit in the world. my esoteric beliefs assure me this is but an infinitly small portion of what actually is. so fuck it, doesn't really matter one way or another what goes on.

Even better, i don't have to participate in the common reality, its really not required, or even the best thing invented. its actually very very very far behind since poeple are so stupid. We don't even have universal understanding of how to best use the urge to fuck creatively. thats like the first chakra. te he he, anyways. thats just me. i'm bitter.

They've allowed me to be content in being wrong.  I am happy even though it's cold and I've got a cold.  And there's no milk for my tea so I had to do that filthy lemon juice and sugar thing.  But I'm well-fed and listening to Into the White by the Pixies.
