Sporeworks vs. Ralphster? * 1
    #2272796 - 01/25/04 08:49 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

Sporeworks describes their syringes as dark and full of spores. I have to admit, though I much appreciated Ralphster's speed and pricing, the syringes weren't exactly dark with spores. Anyone know whether this is the case with sporeworks or not? or whether ralphster's spores were in fact quite dark with them?
thanks

Both are quality vendors. If dark syringes are what you want, make your own syringes. Ralph, Sporeworks, and The Hawks Eye, all have noticible spores in their syringes.

The darkness of the spores has not THAT much to do with the quality.
If the spores are old then the syringe can be purple, but is still won?t do any better than a completely clear syringe with fresh spores.

Not that I would know.

No vendors I know have consistently "colored" syringes.
Sometimes they are more purple, sometimes they are more translucent.
But as I said, this is not important. What is important is that the spores are not contaminated and that they are reasonably fresh. Which they are with most of the vendors, it?s in their interest that the spores can be microscoped with good success.

Id go with Ralph, but thats the only vender i go threw. The end product that the spores create should be your only worries...thats all you should care about. Ordering from a credit card though leaves a paper trail...and in the USA that is not a good thing to have.

i just noc'd some jars with ralphs spores. I was amazed and excited and i think i might have wet myself. after 3 days, not even, my spores from ralph germinated and i've got like 20 dime sized spots in every jar. I've bought syringes from mindexcursions before, and they didn't look any different than ralphs but ralphs were way better. I'm actually incubating some mindx spores right now, and it took them roughly 10 days to even germinate, and i got maybe 3 spots per jar tops. After some bad experiences with other vendors I must say I am extremely satisfied with ralphsters spores. kudos to you ralphster!

I asked ralph if he could make either PR or EQ his next strain of the month. He met my request exactly and February's strain is PR. How many company's take that amnount of customer consideration? Try asking for free hashbrowns instead of fries at McDonalds. Good luck. Ralph rocks!

I also have a problem with sporeworks and sporebank. I 've been told that they are in cohoots and they purchased a domainname similar to ralph's. That's just shady in my opinion. A friend ordered from them thinking ralph went under after the pf thing. It turned out that he typed in "ralphsterspores.com" instead of ralphstersspores.com". That's not very cool on them.

Sporeworks provides spores and supplies to a few different companies. Don't confuse Sporebank with Sporeworks. Sporebank is overpriced and they are stealing Ralph's name. That is wrong no matter how you look at it.

Sporeworks is a retail and wholesale spore vendor... they provide equipment and spores to individuals as well as several companies... what those companies do with that product after it is purchased is out of Sporeworks' control.

I do wish Sporeworks would tell Sporebank to stop stealing Ralph's domain... there is a little guilt by association... but not much. Sporeworks risks losing a HUGE contract by giving Sporebank an ultimatum.

I doubt Sporeworks put Sporebank up to stealing Ralph's name. I could be wrong... but it makes no sense.

you're right, but I still won't have anything to do with it. I can't force sporeworks to do anything, but I can choose to not do business with them in a sort of silent protest.
