Wet filters won't hurt anything as long as they don't stay wet too long.

He is saying if the foil would help to avoid moisture inside the container escape through the filter. No, moisture will find a way to escape, foil is not a perfect seal.

I've noticed you take really large transfers. Is there a reason behind that?

Shitty, large-bladed scalpel and (number 11?) and sloppy drunken technique. and some of those triangles (SOME like in the first pic) are actually two transfers in one triangle.

It also depends how big the sector is. If it's pretty big and I have a lot of room then it's just more comfortable to take larger transfers. I have kinda weird shaped arms (my forearms are way wider around than my shoulders, it's weird.) and longer 'strokes' of the knife come more easily to me.

My first ever dish Tissue culture.

Does it look at all promising to transfer from? I chose the most rhizomorphic dish for the pic. I couldn't get it to focus for shit.

Agree that 9:00 o clock should be transfered.
But don't ignore the area from about 4:30 to 6:00. It's definitely darker / denser. It's also slightly further colonized (like by less than a millimeter.)
The light behind it really helps actually. I will try that in my next pic of transfers.v

I'm curious as to what specifically you look for in a sector?

I want to have at least 50 pp5 containers for agar work but i don't know which to buy... I just know i love the twist n loc' containers of Ziploc. I don't like the glad mini rounds lid mechanism to open it. I can fit 18 16oztwist n loc' containers in my AA 75X. Nice visibility too. The only problem is 16 oz.. There is another container from glad that is 9.5oz with the lock mechanism. i want that one but too expensive.

What's wrong with them being 16oz? Obviously I've had no problem whatsoever using them for agar. But the 16oz, combined with the screw-top lid style, means that your investment has countless potential uses, even just within mycology stuff alone. I'm not gonna pretend it's your least expensive option, you'll spend $50 on that many containers. But it will most definitely, without a doubt, by far be your best investment.

Yes Violet i know you use them in your new tek that's why im looking something like that with the twist lock. The only two options is the 16oz ziploc ones and the 9.5 glad ones. Both are good but i can fit more in my Sterilizer with the glad ones.

Stop worrying about the size and just fucking grow in it. I have literally seen everything pop up on this site from glasses to whiskey bottles to minirounds to actual bone-fide petri dishes.
What matters is sterility, not the vessel. Cultivate in anything you can find to hold agar sterile.
Having the perfect vessel should never hold anyone back from growing mushrooms. Technique needs to stop being about the vessel and develop into more universal principles.

So what you don't like is that you can't fit as many in the cooker at a time? I don't think that's a really big problem. Especially with a cooker a ginormous as yours (I just use an AA910 usually that fits 6, though sometimes I use an old standby that fits 8).
Something you might be interested in is my little trick for sterilizing inter-stacked containers, unstacking and lidding them in one's clean workspace. Check out my culture tech thread to see that trick. Use at your own "risk" :P
Even outside that, the main thing is that the wide variety of uses makes the containers far more worthwhile. Having to do another run or so to get as many dishes sterilized doesn't come close to being able to multi-purpose the container more than anything else that is manufactured.
Again, just my 2¢!
