Karo help
    #2272374 - 01/25/04 05:46 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

Can you tell me what contams look like in karo jars. I have some yellow dots floating but I think that was just some carmilization. What should I look out for? Thank you for your input.
I did post this in the cotamination forum but no one will answer and I need some so please dont move this thread Thank you

I've never seen a contaminated karo jar! Sorry Fee! But the yellow floaters are pretty normal...You used honey right? I think it might be the binders in the honey coming out of solution under heat. I've seen similar floaters in karo, but assumed it to be something that got into the jar before sterilization. I don't think karo has the binders like honey. If you notice anything multipling that isn't myc, just toss the fucka! I assume bacteria is the most likely LC contam, and you can't see those guys real well!

I did use the karo and got the little yellow dots thinking it was carmalized sugar. Now does anyone know what contams look like? or we just gonna talk about bisquits and dinner rolls

I just did them yesterday and really didnt check but I will watch to so if it grows. The suger in karo when carmalized does turn yellow so im pretty sure if you are seeing it also thats what it must be it would be weird if we had the same contam
