It's a great movie, both versions, but IMO Suspiria would be the better movie to trip to. Funny Games is done in a real tone; except for one part, everything looks & feels like real life. Suspiria has a "trippy" element; aside from the impossible plot, it is filmed in all these ethereal colors and filters. Gives the aesthetic an otherworldly appearance that you don't get in Funny Games. Also, I'd be concerned that Funny Games gets too intense. I think that effect is amazing, it's believability is what makes it so horrifying, but I don't know that I'd want that movie to set the tone of my trip, KWIM? Suspiria is more "light", less anxiety provoking.
Both great films, but tripping to Suspiria seems like such a better time.
I know i just wanna get one person to watch funny games without any prior knowledge and hear their reaction . From what I've seen suspiria definitely has an awesome atmosphere and great camera work and all that.

Perhaps Stalker? Another great Tarkovsky film was the original Solaris (1976). That was an extremely trippy film when I watched it sober. It blew my mind more than Kubrick's 2001 (another movie on my list of films to watch tripping)
But you were likely thinking of A Serbian Film, and yeah the OP would like it if he liked Martyrs and Inside, but Srpski film had a profound effect on me watching it sober, and I wouldn't care to imagine watching it on psychedelics.
If you watch 2001 tripping, play echoes by pink floyd during the last 30 or however many minutes. (The last scene begins with the screen saying "jupiter and the great beyon" this is where you want echoes to start playing.
Rumor has it kubrick talked to pink floyd about having them do the soundtrack, so they started working on echoes. At some point they came to a financial disagreement and dropped out. The song still syncs up perfectly(unlike dsotm and wizard of oz). Partially it syncs up due to lack of dialogue, i guess any song COULD sync up, but this song works perfectly in my and the majority of the internet's opinion.

Yep, I tried the Echoes odyssey thing years ago. Kind of like the Dark Side of the Wizard of Oz thing. I liked DSotM with the Wizard of Oz a lot better than Echoes with 2001. IMO, the soundtrack is perfect already, and it was NOT meant to be played with the film. That's just one of the many "conspiracy theories" surrounding the mythical film-maker.
Edit: Of course Courage the Cowardly Dog is on the internet. The internet has everything!

The original "MANIAC"(tom savini did the effects in it,ab so lute ly fantastic!). And the new one really. I used to watch horror movies on LSD and then I finally got what I could out of the experience. It will pass, but I understand the fascination. Did it 20 plus years ago. Saw Behind the Green Door, and Driller Killer as well. Weird shit. I prefer the pixar stuff now for visuals etc... Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, and Epic really stand out. (Mushrooms with the last 2)

What about anime? Does it have to be live actors? Akira is really scary, in a conceptual sense, I can imagine it would be downright terrifying on acid.
Another horror / slasher anime movie is Perfect Blue. That one would be really confusing though.

Actually i think bug might be a decent one now that i think of it.
A couple with no backstory (iirc) check into a motel and start TWEAKING the fuck out. Like hard. Been a few years since i seen it, but i think they leave it to the viewer as to whether its deug psychosis, or real or what. Idk i just know that movie would make me paranoid as fuck tripping.

I thought Bug was awful. (Also, your memory is a bit fuzzy- there's a backstory on both leads, & it was pretty clear to me that they suffered from a shared delusion.) That movie made me real sad actually, because it was directed by William Friedkin (the Exorcist, the French Connection, etc) and I became concerned that he was losing his mind or becoming otherwise senile.
HOWEVER- I see your point within the context of this thread; Bug might be hella intense while tripping. The acting is good (despite a terrible story) and the anxiety and paranoia are palpable. I can only speculate that acid would amplify that. So it might yet be a good suggestion for OP's purpose.
