I did this on a whim and it seems to be going ok. I just took a couple small chips from a patch and put them with some left over pine chips from my garden. 9 days of growth.

Sorry to wake up, but how is this ended, did you notice anything what is not worth the try with pines.
I have access to a shitload of pine chips. (bigger piles than my house)
Thanx.

The OP's woodchips look like Scott's Earthgro Red. Those are Douglas fir chips. Pine does not work unless it has been decomposed for a couple of years. Bags of these chips are $4 at Home Depot. I'd buy new chips instead of using pine. Don't waste your time, you'll find that the mycelium won't grow on pine.

So I tested this.
I tried to cover the top of my allenii tub with not treated but moist pine chips. They started to grow over, and on it. There is no prove that they can use, but they can grow on them. I try to build up to a thick pinechip layer and separate some to make an absolute pine tub.
I wondering, that Hyphploma Capnoides can utilise the pine and looks like they are similar in movement and season and nearly the looking. So why they cannot have same enzimes as H.Cap.
Maybe they die back after some growth. Maybe this is not pine at all (smells like very pine) Donno, tme will tell.

Off: Hi They are on agar, in a cool place, but till today I cannot be sure they are Serbica or other myc. So need more time. The cardboard ones are growing nicely. And the other box too. And I have a big tub cased to "maybe fruit" in my Cellar where this Allenii box is sitting, and the Subaeruginosa and Ps. Cyanescence are fruiting.
Well much much is going on
But I need to clean up my cellar because oysters and other edibles are going there in a month or two.
On: I have a big truck and lot's of bags, and I have some friend so I want to collect a huge part of the pile and transfer to my garden For these buggers and SRA beds.
Peace
