Hi Guys,
I have make extract and teas for myself and friends, but i'm still new at this.
So I am wondering if anyone knows if Isopro alcohol is good for making mushroom extracts generally speaking because it is the cheapest alcohol I have access to, apart from making my own ethanol of something..
I'm going to use it on reishi, but Also I am using it on artist conk now. seems to good but any info would be great.
Thanks

GROSS!
Definitely NOT. Its Iso not Ethyl, completely different. Drinking Isopropyl Alcohol WILL KILL YOU!
You can only use that if you're going to be evaporating the solvent. Get yourself some Everclear/High Proof GRAIN Alcohol

What if OP was talking about a dry extract? Would it be ok to use merely as solvent, provided that it has evaporated completely?
I also don't know about any reactions it may or may not undergo with mushroom compounds. I don't have the feeling it would, but that's just an uneducated guess...

I can Ethanol is expensive though, so what i do for diluted extracts is make pure dry extract with ISO then make my dilution with the least amount of ethanol i need to dose correctlyand precisely.

Hey cheers for the input guys,
It's not for drinking - it's for dry extract and it seems cheaper.
I'm using it on weed and it's good. So using it like this Is ok then.
Thanks
Guys]]
