I have a question about the plastic (ziploc 16oz) twist top agar plates. After the PC cools, when transporting them from the PC to the SAB, do I seal the lids completely? Like, open the PC, seal them all in the PC, then transport? Do I leave them unsealed after inoculation? If so do I put some freezer bags in the SAB to throw the dishes into after inoc? Is this common knowledge that I'm just not stumbling upon? If there is a link that would answer this, that would be awesome. If not, any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like you might be sliiightly overthinking it, which is why you aren't finding the info. For me it's: PC -> Kitchen counter -> Shelf -> SAB -> Shelf+time -> SAB
No bags unless I'm putting them in the fridge for a long period of time. You can take more or less precautions, but most of what can happen to the outside of a pasty plate is nothing that wiping with iso before handling won't fix.

Hmmm perhaps you're right. Either way, thanks for the reply and the experience :] I feel like maybe I should have just gone with the mini rounds so that they are sealed at all times excluding the inoc. Guess I could always mod the twist top lids. Or maybe I'll just sack up and relax a little
Thank you for the tips Shroominmyroom

Wait, what do we mean by "sealing" here? These things should be wrapped in foil around the lids. What are we sealing that isn't already sealed enough?
Oh I see you have the twist top lids, gotcha, yeah you want to tighten them up when they're not in the PC. Sorry, I missed that.

Let's just call that a symptom of having smoked enough weed.
I thought dude was talking about sealing them in some sterile container, or the PC, to bring back to the SAB and shit.

Lets hope that's good luck! This is my first ever agar attempt after all. I'll make a thread with updates n shit. Does anyone's agar get frothy/foamy on the surface after the cook? I mixed 10g DME and 10g agar with 500ml tap water, cooked it in a pan till it started to simmer/low boil. constant stirring. I poured a couple plates but realized the agar I was pouring had some foam-like accumulations on the surface so I did my best to scoop it out. Is this a normal thing to run into? Any way to prevent it?

I give it a gentle swirl while it's still kinda hot and that helps as much as it can before you start lining the walls with agar but, the typical solution is to raise and lower the pressure more slowly.

Ah okay thank you fish
Okay so this is my current situation.

Got everything wiped down and letting the air settle. Noticed one or two of the plates had sealed and created a vacuum. Not sure if that's going to effect anything. My main concern is the water in the dishes. There's a little condensation along the walls, but there's a drop or two of water rolling around on the top of the agar in a couple of the dishes. Should I try and pour it out into the SAB or leave it there? Thanks in advance!

Pour it out onto the floor of the SAB. The vacuum shouldn't matter much as long as you break it gently in the SAB, keep the drafts minimal.

And don't use your lighter inside the SAB. You're asking to ignite fumes and go to the ER.
