What raises the ph, verm or coir?
    #2264970 - 01/23/04 07:52 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

In reading what everyone else is doing, the guys that use straight coir dont buffer it with anything like lime. But the guys using the 50/50 Verm Coir are also sometimes buffering.

So it must be the Verm thats positive ph, correct?

From my understanding many people have had success on straight coir, while others suggest adding 10%-50% Verm to retain moisture.

Whats the general consensus on that?

~thanks~

Whatever works for you. I?ve read here about people using 60/40, 70/30, 75/25, straight coir, 50verm/50 peat, peat alone, some add a buffer and some don?t; and yesterday I read an experiment made by Ganja using wood chips as casing layer. So you?ll get as many answers as methods used. The only important think is that you don?t want a casing layer too acidic or too basic that will inhibit mycellium growth.

Good luck bro.
