MEA makes the prettiest looking agar plates for sure, but it's important to rotate your media to keep the culture from getting lazy. Make that myc work for its food lol.
I've always been partial to MEA. Often get it from from Fungi Perfecti.
Recently a plant pathologist friend of mine gave me a sleeve of PDA plates, acidified with lactic acid (the lower pH inhibits growth of bacteria) and have been surprised how well it's done.

1.&3. P.Semi on wbs, grass, manure, grass seed, verm&coffee.(kitchen sink jars. Myc always goes apeshit with so much to choose from, usually I'll see it colonize certain parts first then blow up. I believe #3 is contaminated with another species, never seen those rhizos so pronounced in semi ever.
5.,6.,&9. Open air galindoi containers chugging along well, can't wait to have a dresser cover with spore dust.
7.&8. Thousands of oyster pins forming all over a dinner plate sized fruit I was prints that I forgot about under the plastic container. It has started eating the calendar page I was printing it on for rubbing all over logs.
2. Wild Pan Cambo from Australia. It has thicker myc than my pan cambo Goliath which is already thicker than cubes as is. It's nuts, I'll need a hammer to break it up if it's like the last one. No consolidation time at all this try around so we'll see when the time comes of it makes a difference.
4. Open air P.galindoi on dresser with my individual G2G from masters. I food color white rice and transfer half a table spoon of grain from a master to each and they colonize in under a week. Then I have a Jars worth of inoculate in each container. I have gotten up to 75 jars worth of G2G material from on full quart master jar all ready to use in less than a week if I ever needed that much, God forbid that day ever come. Mycelium colonizes the white rice lightly very quickly and is ready to use right after, since the white rice is lacking it goes nuts when it get onto any type of grain just like a regular grain to grain only I think better.

Thank you cronicr. Puts me at ease. It makes sense it's reacting to bacteria, they are all stuck in pots outside.

I think its the coffee. Shit grows fast like mold. I added some other stuff to the LC before using it too, so I'm sure that helped too. You can see the mycelium is colonizing the condensation even. I think the middle is hotter, pushing the moisture outward as you can see the straw is wet, when it wasn't so, in the beginning. I still think its the coffee, causing some freaky growth...I thought I had trich...the mycelium is growing so that its reaching out, faster than it beefs up, and looks greyish, later filling in white. It might be a sign of high levels of Co2 as well. It has been, eventually, turning bright white, so what I do I care. This is 11 days old, the whole thing looks like this but the bottom is slightly less colonized than the top but the very bottom is colonizing which is most important to me. Temps have been 68-70, 65 at night. By the time this thing fully colonizes hopefully I'll have the fruiting chamber tuned in.

Actually it's colonizing, which comes before complete colonization...
